The Journey: From Singleness to International Marriage
April 3, 2025
After a failed marriage in 2021 and several drastic life changes, I’d completely given up on love. Back then, I was the type to download a dating app, scroll for a couple of weeks, then delete it. To me, the “fish” just didn’t feel right—everything seemed off.
Although I prayed repeatedly for God to send me my husband, I realized later that I was praying the wrong prayer.
My prayer eventually shifted. Instead of asking, “God, send me my husband,” I began asking, “God, change me. Prepare me for the husband you have for me.”
At that time, my prayer life wasn’t where it needed to be. I was hyperfocused on tangible things—work, my children, responsibilities—everything except my spiritual foundation. I was busy taking care of life, but not nurturing my core.
Before I knew it, I found myself buying and reading a book about how to live happily as a single woman. I had accepted that maybe I would be single for the rest of my life—and I made peace with that.
But by the summer of 2025, everything began to shift.
A sister in Christ invited me to a worship event that included praise dancing. While I was there, I experienced the Holy Spirit in a way I never had before—through prayer, through stillness, through surrender.
On April 19, 2025, something changed in me.
It felt like my spirit was finally released—from past relationships, from disappointment, from everything I had been carrying. My soul felt lighter. I felt free.
When Victor and I connected I was excited. It felt different. We talked for hours about Christianity, music, family, culture, and of course, food. There was a natural connection, like I was speaking to someone who truly understood me.
Still, I was hesitant.
I kept asking myself, “How can this be? How can I meet someone who feels like my twin?”
After months of countless video calls and exchanging photos, I received confirmation in my spirit. The Holy Spirit made it clear to me:
This is your husband.
And that… is how VK Testimony began.WordPress block patterns offer a powerful way to create predefined block layouts, enabling users to quickly design pages and posts with a consistent look and feel. These patterns are essentially collections of blocks that are pre-arranged and configured, which you can insert into your posts and pages.
The Test
April 15, 2025
Over time, I’ve listened to several podcasts and read a number of books about what it takes to build a successful marriage. While each perspective offers something valuable, I’ve come to believe that the most important element is the foundation on which the marriage is built.
For me, that foundation is God. When God is at the center of a union, it creates a strength that goes beyond what we can sustain on our own. This doesn’t mean the marriage will be free from trials. Challenges will come, and often in ways we don’t expect. There will be moments that test your patience and your faith.
That’s why it’s so important to pray together and stay spiritually aligned. Building a personal relationship with God, knowing him as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit creates a deeper sense of unity within the marriage. It grounds you, especially in seasons when life feels uncertain or overwhelming.
In our own journey, we’ve faced moments that truly tested us. One of the most significant was a near-death experience in January 2025. It was a time filled with fear and uncertainty, and while I can’t fully speak to what was going through Victor’s mind, I know this: he remained faithful in prayer and fully present through it all.
Experiences like that can either strengthen a marriage or break it. For us, it became a testament to faith, love, and resilience. I believe wholeheartedly that God carried us through that season and gave me a second chance at life. He gave me a chance to continue building memories with my husband and family.
That experience taught me something I’ll never forget: never take time with your spouse and family for granted. Life is fragile, and none of us truly knows how much time we have. What matters most is how we show up for one another, how we love, and how we stay rooted in faith through it all.
